and this is definitely a nice advantage 4. A stable kite does not fall for any of your mistakes or wind holes. One of the qualities most appreciated by beginners is the stability of the kite in the air. Wind RangeĪ very wide wind range is important not only because it allows you to increase your chances of exit by decreasing the number of sails that you need, but also because in case the wind rises while you are at sea, it gives you more room to get back in full. Personally, I find the systems that release themselves more immediate by pushing forward. Same thing for the Quick release that in some bars is activated by rotating. Some bars, for example, have their depower settings down (which I don't like because they are not used to finding it there, but others prefer it that way). However, check the operation of the bar and the system you are about to buy because some may be more instinctive than others, even just for the habit. All modern kitesurf wings have quick release systems (quick release) and very efficient depower systems. Needless to say, safety should be the first concern when choosing a kite. This means a comfortable kite in gait, freeride, easy and permissive in jumps, freestyle and which also allows you to get close to sailing with a surf. Let's start by saying that a sail for beginners and intermediates should be an all-round model, versatile and able to adapt to different disciplines. Here is a brief guide to give you a minimum of basic information so you can get around a little better in your search, followed by the list of 10 kitesurf sails that you can consider to be on the safe side. What are the features to consider when buying the first kitesurf sail? What features should a beginner or intermediate kite have? A jungle! Even if you're not a beginner, changing your outdated kitesurf for something more fun may not be so simple. A lot of technical terms, dozens of models and brands to disentangle, not to mention the announcements in the markets. If you do not have access to a car, let us know in the sign-up form, and we will arrange transport from Bore if needed. If you're looking around to buy your first kitesurf sail you'll probably be confused already. Thats why we recommend to bring your car. Depending on the wind direction (and waves) we might stay at Bore or drive to another spot for the actual Course. Here we meet on the first day of the course to get wetsuits and kite gear. The Meeting Point for the Beginner Kitesurfing Courses is at Bore Surf Centre which is located at Bore Beach in Jæren, approximately 30 mins by car from Stavanger, Norway. Here we have plenty of space and many spots for different wind conditions. This coastline is known as Norway´s best area for kiting on water. The course is held at one of Jærens big beaches, depending on wind direction. If you are under 18, you’ll need written permission from your parents. If you are younger, we recommend that you take private lessons instead. To participate in the course, you have to be older than 13. Everyone who wants to try should take a course! However, it is difficult and dangerous to try to learn on your own. Kitesurfing doesn’t have to be an extreme sport it is possible, and amazing, to just cruise. You don’t have to be strong - you hold the power of the kite with your bodyweight through a harness. If you can swim and are in normal physical shape, you can learn how to kite. Body dragging: Getting around in the water without a board. Launching and landing the kite with and without assistance.Control: Understanding how the kite flies and generates power.Wind conditions and personal learning curve determine how much kiteboarding you will actually be able to do during the course, but we guarantee that everyone will get a good feel for it and have lots of fun on the way. The goal is to give you all the basic skills and knowledge to be able to practice kiting in a safe manner after the course. Not everyone manages to ride properly on the board during the first two days, but we give you all the basic know-how and enough experience so that you can continue practicing in a safe way after the course. There is some theory and a lot of practicing and kite-flying in the water/on the beach. During a weekend, you learn all you need to know to start kiting on your own.
